Who this policy covers

ACKBiz is the product brand of ACKPlus Solutions Private Limited, a company registered in India. ACKPlus Solutions Private Limited is the data controller ('we', 'us') for the purposes of this policy. ACKBiz is a brand name, not a separate legal entity.

This policy applies to every mobile app, game and web product we publish, on Android, iOS and the browser, together with this website. Where a specific product handles data differently, this policy says so in the relevant section.

Our products differ considerably. Some work entirely offline and never send anything anywhere. Others offer optional sign-in, backup or advertising. A section that begins 'some of our apps' applies only to those that offer the feature described, and only when you use it.

Data you create in the app stays on your device

Most of our apps are built to do their work on your device. The records you enter -- ledger entries, customer balances, expenses, loan calculations, crop and farm accounts, medical records, reminders, game progress and settings -- are written to storage on that device.

We do not receive a copy of that data. It is not transmitted to us, we cannot read it, and we cannot recover it for you if the device is lost, reset or the app is uninstalled without a backup.

This is the default for our apps. Data leaves your device only through a feature you choose to use: signing in, enabling backup, exporting a file, or sharing something yourself. Each of those is described below.

Google sign-in, where an app offers it

Some of our apps offer sign-in with a Google account. Signing in is optional in the apps that offer it, and an app that offers it will say what signing in enables.

When you sign in, Google provides us with a limited set of information from your Google profile:

• Your name as it appears on your Google account
• Your email address
• Your Google profile picture, where the app displays one
• A stable identifier for your Google account, used to recognise you on a later sign-in

We use this to identify your account within the app, to associate a backup with you so it can be restored to a new device, and to reply to you if you contact support. We do not use it for advertising or profiling, and we do not sell it.

We never receive your Google password. Authentication happens with Google, not with us. You can disconnect our app from your Google account at any time through your Google account's security settings, and you can ask us to delete the data associated with it as described in the deletion section.

Backup, restore and automatic backup

Some of our apps offer a backup so your records survive changing or resetting a device. Where an app offers backup, it may work in one or more of these ways, and the app will make clear which it is using.

Android's automatic backup is a feature of the operating system rather than of our apps. When it is enabled on your device, Android may copy app data to your Google account so it can be restored when you set up a new device. That copy is held by Google under Google's terms, and it is governed by your device's backup settings, which you can turn off at any time.

Where a backup is held in your own Google Drive or by Android, we cannot read it, delete it or restore it on your behalf. You manage it through your Google account.

Where an app backs up to a service we operate, we hold that data only to provide the backup and restore feature. We do not analyse it, mine it, or use it for any purpose other than returning it to you.

Exporting and sharing your own data

Many of our apps let you export your records -- as a PDF, CSV, image or similar -- so you can keep a copy, print it, send it to an accountant, or attach it to a loan or subsidy application.

An export is produced on your device and handed to whatever you choose to do with it. We do not receive a copy and we have no visibility of where you send it. Once you share an exported file, its handling is governed by whichever service or person you shared it with, not by this policy.

Exported files are not encrypted by default and may contain sensitive information, including financial or health records. Please take the same care with them as you would with a paper copy of the same information.

Advertising

Some of our apps display advertising, which is how those apps are paid for. Where an app shows ads, they are served by Google AdMob and its advertising partners.

To serve and measure ads, those partners may collect and process information about your device and your use of the app, including:

• Your device's advertising identifier, which you can reset or limit in your device settings
• Your IP address, from which an approximate location such as city or country may be derived
• Device and app information, such as model, operating system version and app version
• Information about ads shown to you, and whether you interacted with them

We do not give advertising partners the records you create in the app. Your ledgers, expenses, health records and farm accounts are not shared with advertisers.

You have controls over this. On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID, and opt out of ad personalisation, in your device settings. On iOS you control whether an app may request tracking permission, and our apps function whether or not you grant it. Where required in your region, you will be shown a consent choice before personalised ads are used, and you can change that choice later from within the app.

How Google uses information from apps that use its services is described in Google's own privacy policy and in its partner policies, which we do not control.

Device permissions, and only where the feature needs them

An app asks for a permission only when a feature you are using requires it, and explains why at the point of asking. Declining a permission disables that feature; it does not prevent you using the rest of the app.

Where an app records location, it does so to serve the feature you invoked, at the moment you invoke it. Our apps do not track your location in the background.

Financial and health information

Several of our products exist to hold information that matters: loan and EMI records, business ledgers and customer balances, farm accounts, expense books, and family medical records including prescriptions and vaccination history.

We treat that information as belonging to you. We do not sell it, we do not share it with advertisers, we do not use it to build a profile of you, and we do not use it to train any model. Where it is stored on your device, we cannot read it at all.

Our apps are tools for keeping your own records. They are not a substitute for professional financial, legal, tax or medical advice, and no calculation or record in them should be relied on as such.

This website

This website carries no analytics, no tracking pixels and no advertising, and sets no cookies for those purposes.

If you send us a message through the support or contact form, we receive what you typed -- your name, your email address, and the details of your enquiry -- and we use it to answer you. Those forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to distinguish people from automated submissions; Cloudflare receives technical information about the request in order to do that.

This site has no user accounts, so there is nothing to sign in to and no account data to hold.

Who else is involved

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.

Information is handled by others only in these circumstances:

• Service providers who operate parts of a product on our behalf, such as advertising, sign-in, cloud storage and email delivery. They may use the data only to provide that service to us.
• The app stores, Google Play and the Apple App Store, which handle distribution, purchases and their own analytics under their own policies.
• Where the law requires it, such as a valid legal request, or where it is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.
• A successor, if the business or a part of it is transferred. You would be told before your information became subject to a different policy.

How long anything is kept

Your rights

Where we hold personal information about you, you may ask us to give you a copy of it, correct it if it is wrong, delete it, or stop using it in a particular way. You may also withdraw a consent you previously gave, which will not affect anything done before you withdrew it.

Much of your data is not ours to act on: information stored only on your device is deleted by you, by deleting it in the app or uninstalling the app, and a backup in your own Google account is managed through that account.

To make a request, or to complain about how we have handled your information, use the data deletion page or write to us at the address in the contact section. We will respond within the time the applicable law allows. If you are in India, you may also complain to the Data Protection Board of India; if you are in the UK or EU, you may complain to your local supervisory authority.

Children

Our apps are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a child. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, a child is anyone under eighteen; other countries set a lower age.

If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it. If you are a parent or guardian, your device's parental controls and your Google or Apple family settings give you control over what can be installed and what a child can do in an app.

Security

Data we transmit is sent over encrypted connections, and data held on a service we operate is protected by access controls appropriate to it. Keeping most data on your device rather than on our servers is itself a deliberate protection: information we never hold cannot be lost by us.

No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Your device is part of the picture: a device lock, current software and care with exported files all protect your records.

Where data is processed

We are based in India and our own processing takes place there. Some of the service providers named in this policy, including Google, operate globally and may process information in other countries. Where information is transferred out of your country, it is done under the safeguards required by the applicable law.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our products change what they do with data. The date at the top of this page is when it last changed, and the current version is always the one published here.

If a change materially affects how your information is used, we will make that clear in the app or on this site rather than relying on you to notice a new date.
