Data Deletion Request
How to have data deleted, what we can delete for you, and what only you can delete because it never leaves your device.

Most data is already in your hands
Most of our apps keep your records on your device and send us nothing. For those, there is no request to make and nothing for us to delete, because we never received it.
To remove that data yourself:
- Delete individual records inside the app, where it offers that
- Clear the app's data from your device settings, which removes everything it has stored
- Uninstall the app, which removes its data from that device
Check your backups too. If you exported a file, or if a backup exists in your Google Drive or in Android's automatic backup, deleting the app does not remove those. They are under your Google account, and we cannot reach them.
Asking us to delete data we hold
If you signed in to one of our apps, or used a backup service we operate, we may hold data associated with your account. Email us to have it deleted, and include:
- The name of the app or game, as it appears on this site or in the store
- The email address you signed in with, sent from that address where possible so we can verify the request
- Whether you want everything deleted, or only a specific part of it
Send it with the subject line 'Data deletion request'. Writing from the address you signed in with is the fastest way for us to confirm the request is really yours; if you cannot, we will ask for something else that establishes it before we delete anything.
What is deleted, and what is kept

Deletion is permanent. Once your data is deleted we cannot restore it, so export anything you want to keep before you ask.
How long it takes
We acknowledge a request when we receive it and act on it within thirty days, which is the period the applicable data protection law allows. Deletion is usually done well inside that.
Copies may persist briefly in routine system backups after your data is deleted from the live service. Those are overwritten on their normal cycle and are not used for anything in the meantime.
If we cannot fulfil a request -- because we cannot verify it is yours, or because the law requires us to keep something -- we will tell you why rather than leaving it unanswered.
Other requests about your data
The same address handles any request about your information: a copy of what we hold, a correction, a restriction on how it is used, or withdrawal of a consent you gave. The privacy policy sets out those rights in full.
